L'Alpette, like a phoenix...

On 23rd August this year, people in Megève noticed black smoke rising from the mountains above: L'Alpette mountain restaurant, situated at 1895 metres altitude opposite Mont-Blanc, was devastated by a terrible fire. Part of the building was destroyed, and it will be closed for the 2015/2016 winter season. You might think that this is the end of the road for this iconic restaurant on the Emile Allais piste, but that would be forgetting the Sibuet's family's determination to bring this Megève landmark back to life, causing it literally to rise again from the ashes and recreating the restaurant's highly distinctive atmosphere. The story of l'Alpette is far from over, and it will continue to write new chapters...
